Krasnodar, 16 June – Yug Times. Following extensive renovation works, several upgraded facilities have reopened at Sochi’s Riviera Park.
The historic Black Sea pond has reopened after a major refurbishment. According to Mayor Andrei Proshunin, the site has retained its original artistic concept and historic architectural features while gaining a number of new elements. These include sculptural representations of Matsesta Spa and the Tower on Mount Akhun.
Residents and visitors can also once again enjoy the renovated multi-purpose sports ground. Following refurbishment, the venue can now be used not only for basketball but also for volleyball and badminton.
“During the TV hotline, I promised coach Nikita Skavinsky that the facility would be restored in time for the summer season and that unrestricted access would be maintained for every one wishing to use it. I have kept that promise,” Andrei Proshunin commented.
