Krasnodar, 4 June – Yug Times. Construction has begun on a new 800-place school in Khosta District of Greater Sochi.
To date, all design and survey work has been completed. In March, the project received positive approval from an independent state examination with regard to its design documentation and engineering surveys, and the construction permit was issued in April. Mayor Andrei Proshunin said the project had been carefully adapted to the area’s difficult terrain.
“As a result, we will receive a next-generation school with a campus-style architectural design, open public spaces and close integration with the natural environment,” he said.
The project also includes engineering protection measures designed to prevent ground movement on the hillside site.
Construction and installation work is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, after which the school will undergo equipment installation and licensing procedures. Authorities hope students will begin classes there in September the following year.
