Krasnodar, 2 June – Yug Times.Traffic has officially been launched on a new section of the Adler bypass road in Greater So chi leading towards the Kudepsta health resort. 

The newly completed stretch includes a two-lane overpass equipped with pavements and a lighting system. Reconstruction work is also continuing on part of Sukhumi Highway, where plans include a public transport stop, a parking area and an underground pedestrian crossing. 

According to Sochi deputy mayor Viacheslav Bauer, the new road will be particularly important ahead of the summer tourist season.

 “This year, 2.2 billion roubles have been allocated from budgets of three levels for road infrastructure in Sochi,” he said. “The funding will be used for road repairs, maintenance, infrastructure upgrades and the development of intelligent transport systems.” 

City authorities also noted continued efforts to reduce road accidents through the modernisation of traffic lights and the installation of traffic-monitoring detectors.
