Krasnodar, 22 May – Yug Times. Three historic buildings in the stanitsa of Leningradskaya have reportedly been granted the status of regional cultural heritage sites.
Experts confirmed their architectural, historical and scientific significance for Krasnodar Krai.
According to Kuban Vice-Governor Roman Luzinov, the buildings reflect more than two centuries of the history of Leningradskaya (earlier, Umanskaya). He noted that protected status makes it possible to preserve the historic appearance of settlements and safeguard old buildings for future generations.
One of the newly protected sites is an early 20th-century boys’ school built in the eclectic style. The institution was funded by the State Treasury and was known for its extensive library and high-quality facilities. Alongside general education subjects, its pupils were taught the basics of military training. A Cossack school dating back to 1905 has also been placed under protection. After the Bolshevik revolution, it became an agricultural educational institution, and today the building houses an educational centre.
