Krasnodar, 14 May – Yug Times. It has been reported that the dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Adyghe State University is set to stand trial on charges of fraud and abuse of office. The alleged offences were uncovered during operational investigations conducted by officers of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) in Adygea. Investigators say that in 2023 the dean fictitiously enrolled three students on the full-time Teacher Education programme in an attempt to create the appearance of successful faculty performance.
“The suspect, seeking to improve the faculty’s student enrolment statistics and fulfil state targets for enrol ment numbers, initiated the fictitious admission of three Russian nationals to state-funded full-time places at Adyghe State University in September 2023,” said Stanislav Ivashin, official representative of the FSB Di rectorate for the Republic of Adygea.
