Krasnodar, 23 April – Yug Times. Construction of the Adler bypass in Sochi has reportedly entered an active new phase, with work now underway on the western portal.

Drilling operations have begun at the site. Near Gostepriimnaya Street, specialists have started laying the foundations for retaining walls using bored piles along the approach to the portal. To date, 17 out of the planned 249 piles have been installed.

The same construction technology used for the eastern portal will be applied to the western portal wall. This involves reinforced piles whose structural framework matches the strength of metal, while being easier for tunnel-boring machines to penetrate. These machines are set to complete excavation of the Adler bypass tunnels towards Kudepsta.

The new access road to the Kudep sta Spa Retreat is scheduled to open at the start of this year’s holiday season. In March, monolithic construction of the bridge spans was completed. Construction scaffolding has since been dismantled, and specialists are now working on access routes both above and below the structure.
