Krasnodar, 21 April – Yug Times. A tech startup from Krasnodar Krai is set to introduce an AI-powered system to monitor food quality in schools across the region. The pilot project will initially involve two schools in Krasnodar and two in Sochi. The initiative was discussed by Governor Veniamin Kondratiev and innovator Dan Guselnikov. The system uses artificial intelligence to an alyse the weight, composition, temperature and appearance of food, helping ensure quality standards. Already in use in around 50 facilities, including major hotel chains, it has proven effective in the hospitality and food industries, cutting costs by more than 25%.
“With more than 1,250 schools, our education system is one of the largest in the country. Ensuring the quality of meals in every institution is a priority,” Mr. Kondratiev said.
All processes are fully automated. Next week a module comparing dishes with a reference standard will launch, followed by bioanalytics for each product. In school meals, a third AI model will check portions against regional norms, enabling contract compliance. Machine vision now weighs dishes, tracks demand. In the public sector, the system records output, monitors temperature and quality, flags discrepancies and supports oversight.
