Krasnodar, 12 March – Yug Times. According to the National Bureau of Credit Histories, Russians set 1.13 million self-imposed bans on taking out loans in February.
This represents a 10.5% increase compared with the previous month, when 1.02 million such restrictions were introduced.
At multipurpose service centres (MSC), 162,600 self-restrictions were registered in February nationwide — 31.7% more than in January (123,400). Through the Gosuslugi online government services portal, 967,400 bans were set, up 7.6% from 899,100 a month earlier.
Borrowers also used the service to lift previously introduced restrictions. In February, self-bans were removed 83,200 times at MSCs — by 25.5% more than in January (66,300). At the same time, 93,600 bans were lifted through the Gosuslugi portal, by 3.6% fewer than the 97,100 bans recorded the previous month.
Krasnodar Krai ranked among the top three Russian regions in February for the number of self-restrictions introduced through MSCs, with 7,700 such cases. Experts note that the rise in applications for loan self-restrictions in February compared with January is largely explained by the long New Year holiday period in January.
