Krasnodar, 10 February – Yug Times. Krasnodar Krai will allocate more than 80 million roubles to the development of promising hybrids of spring crops.
The announcement was made by Fyodor Dereka, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Processing Indus try of the Krasnodar region, at the all-Russia Agronomy Conference held at the Timiriazev Centre under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Andrei Razin.
Fyodor Dereka noted that in 2026 the region will step up efforts in plant breeding and seed production.
“We face an ambitious task — to increase several-fold the share of key agricultural crops sown with domestically produced seeds. Agricultural science has made significant progress, and close cooperation between researchers and producers is yielding genuinely competitive breeding solutions. This year we will intensify work in line with the objectives of the national project Technological Support for Food Security. Scientists and farmers will jointly develop promising hybrids of spring crops. More than 80 million roubles have been allocated for this purpose, which will significantly strengthen import independence and ensure the country’s food security,” Dereka said.
