Krasnodar, 18 December – Yug Times. Repair works have reportedly been completed on a landslide-prone section of road in Dagomys, Greater Sochi.
As part of the project, federal road authorities constructed two new retaining walls and repaired the existing one. Ninety-eight piles with a diameter of over one metre were drilled to build the new structures, which were additionally secured with 64 anchors. The walls are also equipped with drain age systems.
The existing retaining wall was clad with panels reinforced with steel mesh and concrete, painted, and fitted with drainage openings. The reinforced shoulders were restored, drainage channels in stalled at the slope junction, and the junction repaired. The kerb stones and safety barriers were re placed and re-installed, and road markings applied along the entire section.
In October 2021, engineers from the road agency identified a developing landslide on an adjacent stretch of road, which began to threaten the integrity of the roadway and nearby residential buildings.
