Krasnodar, 18 November – Yug Times. It is reported that grape harvest has been completed in Krasnodar Krai.

“This year, farmers gathered 305,000 tonnes of grapes — the largest harvest in Kuban’s history,” the governor Veniamin Kondratiev was quoted as saying.

“Vintages grow each year thanks to systematic work. Back in 2019, at our initiative, a federal law on viticulture and winemaking was adopted. In six years, we have displaced imported bulk wine previously used to bottle our still and sparkling wines. Vineyard area has increased from 25,000 to 32,500 hectares. The number of nurseries growing local seedlings has risen to five. Thanks to the regional law protecting grape-suitable land, we have enormous development potential.”

Krasnodar Krai is Russia’s leading winemaking region. Kuban produces 46% of all Russian still wines and 50% of all sparkling wines. In 2024, Kuban wineries produced 232 million litres of still and sparkling wines.
