Krasnodar, 4 November – Yug Times. Restoration of the facade of the Felitsyn Regional Museum has reportedly been completed in Kras nodar.

The work was funded through the regional programme Development of Culture. The building housing the museum is over 120 years old and comprises two structures. Originally, it accommodated the Grand Hotel run by Yekaterina Gubkina and the merchant brothers Bogarsukovs’ house. The museum was established in this building in 1961.

The Felitsyn Krasnodar State Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve (this is the full title of the museum) holds treasures of the Kuban Cossack Host, including the Charter issued by Catherine II, regimental banners, and the Gospel brought by the first settlers to Kuban, all of which have been returned from abroad and restored. The building has historic value as an early 20th-century architectural monument and is a protected cultural heritage site. Previously two separate buildings, it was unified by a single architectural design. Conservators have preserved its integrity and original artistic appearance. In 2025, 2.1 billion roubles were allocated in the Krasnodar region to repair and improve the physical infrastructure of 179 cultural institutions.
