Krasnodar, 20 September – Yug Times. The occupancy of accommodation facilities in Sochi in September remains at the summer level - 87% on average at the seaside, and 64% in the mountain cluster. The data was announced at a meeting of the city operations centre for the summer holiday season. Currently the resort city is receiving 191,000 guests at a time. The tourist flow in relation to the same period last year has grown by 6%.
“The high summer season is over, but the weather allows to comfortably continue the bathing season. It traditionally lasts in Sochi until 1 October. There is no significant decrease in the passenger flow; many tourists specifically choose to spend their September holidays in Sochi: it is not so hot, but all summer activities work,” commented Deputy Mayor Yevgeni Gorobets.
The resort city is focusing on the fight against unauthorised trade. For the last three weeks, 344 administrative files were opened on this issue. Over a thousand litres of alcoholic beverages were withdrawn from illegal turnover. The monitoring of observance of the rules of passenger transportations resulted in placing 11 cars that provided off-roading tours in a specialised car park until the court decision.
