Krasnodar, 25 January – Yug Times. In daytime, Vladislav Varshavsky is General Director of the Southern Innovation Consulting Centre and Executive Director of the Agency for Investments and International Cooperation, and at night he is a forward of the Night Ice Hockey League, a project that was started with the participation of some national leaders.
Such hobby would pleasantly affect people, and build up their emotional background, life spirits and positive attitude to any misfortune. It allows to distract, which is why Vladislav Varshavsky considers ice hockey to be part of his life rather than a mere entertainment.
“My life concept states that people should devote themselves to something they really like and spend quite much time on it and – what is most important – they should mark out that time in their schedule. I have three favourite hobbies: ice hockey, alpine skiing and pistol shooting. But it’s of course ice hockey that occupies the top place. And of late it has ceased to be merely a hobby – it has become a real part of myself,” Varchavsky says.
Vladislav took up ice hockey when he was six, but he never planned to become a professional athlete. This is why he continues to play as much as he likes for so many years. However, since 2014 his favourite game has ceased to be merely a hobby: he was invited to become the regional representative of the Night Ice Hockey League in the Krasnodar region.
“At first, it was very difficult, and only two years after this work transformed into a well-adjusted system. Now we have grown nearly threefold; with the increase of the number of the teams the number of ice arenas for our matches has also increased. The number of people that want to play ice hockey is growing too, and new teams are opening,” he notes.
