Krasnodar, 9 January – Yug Times. The Republic of Adyghea improves its business appeal: in 2018, it approximated the list of the 20 regions that topped the National rating of investment climate compiled by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. Over the past year, Adyghea went up by 19 positions. The task for this year is to continue to attract business investments to the region and to enter the top-20 list. Adyghea has a well-functioning infrastructure of business support, which means use of supporting mechanisms for investment projects, lowering of administrative barriers, and acceleration of corporate registration procedures. Adyghea’s participation in the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi and St, Petersburg International Economic Forum had a positive effect on the region’s business appeal. At these events, Adyghea was able to present the advantages and benefits of the placement of companies and production facilities in its territory.
The end of 2018 was marked by the beginning of the implementation of the project of the mightiest wind park in Russia. Head of Adyghea Murat Kumpilov was quoted as saying recently that the wind park will give a new impetus for the region’s economy and it will become a starting point for the development of the national wind power engineering. The list of the international investors in the regional economy includes Italy, Jordan, and the UAE.
The Krasnodar region, as Adyghea’s closest neighbour, is also interested to develop friendly relations with Adyghea. In 2018, leaders of the two regions agreed to work jointly on socio-economic development of Krasnodar city agglomeration (three Adyghea’s municipalities - Adygheisk, and the Takhtamukai and Teuchezhsk districts - joined the agglomeration). In 2022, Adyghea will be celebrating the centenary of its autonomous status. By then, the region will have to resolve many tasks - from the reconstruction of historic buildings to the intake of investors and increase of the number of small and midsize businesses. The fulfilment of these plans will show whether Adyghea will become prepared to cope with new challenges.
