Krasnodar, 28 December – Yug Times. The conversion of vehicles to natural gas may become a recipe to avoid excessive expenditures, the resolution signed by Vice Prime Minister Dmitri Kozak states.
According to Igor Meshcherin, Director of the International Training Centre “Gas Engine Fuel of the CIS Countries” functioning at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, the sense of the resolution is quite understandable, for natural gas is economically more advantageous due to the rise in petrol and diesel fuel prices.
“In Armenia, 95% of the vehicles presently run on natural gas: the petrol is expensive there, and the distances are short,” Mr. Meshcherin noted. “In Uzbekistan, the figure is 65%; in Italy - 40%; while in Russia, it is only 4%.”
