Krasnodar, 27 December – Yug Times. Last week, Krasnodar played host to a session of the Coordinative council of the Kuban Cossack Host.
The participants of the meeting reviewed the results of the Host’s activities in the departing year. The work of the Kuban Young Cossack League received a special mention: being only one-year-old, this organisation has already made a big contribution to the upbringing of the rising generation. Presently it units over 90,000 young people - and it continues to expand, Host Ataman Nikolai Doluda stressed.
“Next year, we will hold the first congress of the Cossack youth in expanded format,” he said in his welcoming speech. “We will invited atamans [leaders] of [Cossack] detachments, schools, classes, Cossack communities, and leaders of the Cossack youth.”
He also mentioned that the system of continuous Cossack education has been introduced in the region and acts competently: from Cossack kindergartens to Cossack schools (there are 40 such schools in the region) or Cossack classes (over 4,000); then they may enter Cossack military schools (7) or colleges that also have Cossack groups. The Kuban Young Cossack League unites all these teenagers.
“As we shall sow, water and hoe our soil, as we shall mow,” he stated. “We are instilling into the system of Cossack education what is necessary for the people that are not indifferent to the fates of their mates, parents and fatherland.”
