Krasnodar, 27 December – Yug Times. Christmas tree bazaars have opened in Krasnodar, and The Yug Times set off to learn how to choose the firtree and how much it would cost.
Head of the Krasnodar city Department of Trade and Consumer Services Irina Kosinkova explained that the fir-tree bazaar constructions must be fast-erected structures with a festive signboard, decorated with flags or illuminated garlands: “To create a New Year atmosphere, it is recommended that the salespersons should be dressed in costumes of Father Frost [Russian cousin of Santa Claus] and [his granddaughter] Snow Maiden.”
The price for one-metre-length of a fir starts at 600 roubles, that of a spruce - at 500 roubles. A pine tree costs 600 roubles minimum. All bazaars may package the tree into a net, or even deliver it to the customer’s home (at extra charge).
Glossy sliver firs imported from Denmark cost more: a premium-class tree costs from 3,000 to 12,000 roubles, an action-class tree - from 1,200 to 1,500 roubles - depending on colourfulness and splendour.
