Krasnodar, 7 December – Yug Times. Finnish technologies of solid wastes recycling will be aplied in the Kuban region, Governor Veniamin Kondratiev stated during a meeting with Finland’s Ambassador in Russia Mikko Hautala. The meeting was attended by vice governors, heads of regional ministries, Finnish business executives working in the sphere of solid wastes recycling, and producers of heat-and-power engineering equipment.
“The Krasnodar region is a popular tourist destination, which is why we prioritise the issues of environmental safety,” Mr. Kondratiev stressed. “The Finnish experience of treatment of solid household wastes is well-known worldwide as exemplary.” Mr. Hautala confirmed that in the past Finland had had problems with wastes recycling, but the issue was resolved within a relatively short period of time.
“If at the beginning of the 2000s, we disposed 61% of the wastes to dumps, now the figure is only 3%,” he stated. “Secondary recycling has become widely spread [in Finland].”
Executives of nine international companies recounted their work experience and proposed different variants for cooperation.
