Krasnodar, 6 December – Yug Times. Michael Ritter began his career in Germany, and worked in many other countries. But it was in Russia that he headed a company producing agricultural machinery, when he became Sales Director for CLAAS. In Russia, he also found faithful friends and a true love.
At school, Michael studied two foreign languages - Russian and English. At the university, he decided to travel to Russia to better learn the language. His choice fell on the Udmurt State University. There were students from a dozen countries there at the time, but he was the only German student. He recalls that he and his fellow students were able to quickly overcome the language barrier.
“I keep up friendship with many of my schoolmates,” Mr. Ritter says. “What is more, we communicate in Russian.” After the university, Michael worked in South Africa, Uzbekistan and Argentina. Then he became a labour protection executive and then manager at Volkswagen’s factory in Kaluga, Russia. Several years later, he was invited to take a job at CLAAS Russia. With his extensive experience, Michael proved an ideal candidate for the position of sales director of CLAAS’s factory in Krasnodar.
Now Michael Ritter has been working at CLAAS for nearly ten years, and he says that he has never regretted about his decision.
“The Russian soul fits me perfectly,” he acknowledges with a smile. It was in Krasnodar where Michael found his love. Now the couple raises three kids.
