Krasnodar, 5 December – Yug Times. Last week, the Southern Regional Committee of the European Business Association (SRC EBA) celebrated its 15th birthday.
On the occasion of the anniversary, an enlarged session of the Consultative council on foreign investments supervised by the region governor was held in Krasnodar on November 28. The meeting had reportedly summoned governmental officials, business executives and guests from Moscow, including EBA CEO Frank Schauff.
“We consider Kuban as an important region,” he said. “It provides a beneficial investment climate, and offers dialogues between the business circles and the authorities.” Mr. Schauff stressed that SRC EBA Chairman Oleg Zharko keeps a watchful eye on the activities of the regional power and the investors. If a problem appears, he provides an objective assessment to it.
The first international investors came to Kuban some 25 years ago. Since then, they have accomplished over 50 investment projects in various industries to the total amount exceeding USD 18 billion.
“This sum is comparable with a yearly budget of such countries as Bulgaria, Serbia, or Uruguay,” Vice Governor Vasili Shvets stated. “And it is of course evidence of efficient work. We are prepared to expand our cooperation.” The climax of the celebration was a solemn reception, where the officials, businessmen and public activists thanked the SRC EBA for the fruitful cooperation and wished them further success. The Yug Times Editor-in-Chief Marina Tugaeva presented the SRC EBA with a souvenir watch and wished them many years of successful activity, further development and strengthening of partnerships, many interesting ideas and bright projects.
