Krasnodar, 30 November – Yug Times. Last Friday, Minister of Agriculture Dmitri Patrushev held a conference with the presidents of 54 agricultural universities, devoted to the development of national agrarian education.
Before the meeting, Mr. Patrushev inspected the material facilities of the Kuban State Agrarian University. In particular, he visited the newly-reconstructed veterinary hospital.
“Contemporary agriculture is a major consumer of innovations in the global economy,” Mr. Patrushev stressed. “Global digital networks and smart farms, and newest achievements of genetics and selection, molecular biology and biotechnology are coming to the agricultural industry and becoming the technological base for the agricultural production. Such conditions require experts of a different level and quality. This is why, currently we pay a priority attention to the state support of agrarian science and education.”
Vice governor Andrei Korobka was quoted as commenting on the results of the conference that the Kuban region pays peculiar attention to the quality of agrarian education. Preparation of professional staff is considered one of priority tasks for the region, because the share of the agricultural complex in the regional GRP reaches 20%.
