Krasnodar, 31 October – Yug Times. The year 2018 has reshaped the political map of the Krasnodar region. In summer, three municipal heads voluntarily resigned. Then in September, on the single voting day, local elections were held in a number of municipalities. Immediately after these elections, deputies of six local Soviets elected new heads. In three cases, it was either the current heads or the temporarily acting ones - but there were some surprises too. For instance, the experienced politician Viktor Khrestin left the mayor’s post in Gelendzhik. He was replaced by Aleksei Bogodistov, a young manager but an experienced businessman.
Bogodistov is not a stranger for Gelendzhik. He was born and bred there and, as Governor Veniamin Kondratiev says, he knows all the weak and the strong points of the resort city. Besides, for the past five years he had been a deputy of the City Duma, so he is not a novice for the city administration, either.
In three agrarian rayons (districts) - Timashevsk, Gulkevichi and Kushchevsky - it was strong politicians that became the municipal heads. They had replaced their predecessors in summer, and for several months they had been working as acting municipal heads.
The new head of the Timashevsk rayon is Andrei Paliy, former First Deputy Minister of Economy of the Krasnodar region. The Kushchevsky rayon was headed by Ilya Guzev.
In Gulkevichi, the new head is Aleksandr Shishikin. In the other three rayons, the existing heads were re-elected for the second term: Anatoli Perepelin in Tihoretsk, Vladimir Gulakov in the Leningradsky rayon, and Viktor Kuzminov in the Kalininsky rayon.
