Krasnodar, 27 September – Yug Times. Neither scorching sun nor hurricane could have prevented Yuzhnaya Agricultural Company and Kuban Vino Winery to change their harvesting plans. Fortunately, abnormal heat and tornadoes don’t occur in the Kuban region every year. This year, however, Kuban did become exposed to severe natural trials - but, despite everything, the grape yield proved high.
“We managed to give a timely response to the situation: we began the harvest season earlier than usual, and increased the number of pickers and combine harvesters,” Yuzhnaya Executive Director Sergei Tarakhno says.
According to the forecasts, the gross yield will reach 70,000 tons (last year, the figure was 65,000 tons). In addition to wine exports to Germany, Japan and Kazakhstan, Kuban Vino has reportedly started deliveries to China and Spain.
