Krasnodar, 6 September – Yug Times. Serious violations of holidaymakers’ safety rules have repeatedly been registered during the resort season in Kuban.
Hundreds of thousands of our compatriots are heading for the Black and Azov Seas in summer. Out of the 16 million visitors registered in the Kuban region in 2017, over 6 million came in June - August as holidaymakers.
No wonder that some locals can’t resist the temptation to replenish their purses in a dishonest way. Say, a 43-year-old male resident of Dzhubga borrowed a 12-seat boat from his friend, but - most likely, deciding to earn a little money - he seated 68 people into it. Fortunately, all passengers came ashore safe and sound. On August 23, an accident occurred in the Temriuk district, during a tour of flowering lotuses. The recreation of the 11 people who decided to watch the flowers was spoiled by the manoeuvres of their boat driver. He chose a dangerous trajectory, and the boat clung to an obstacle and capsized. All eleven passengers found themselves in the river. Ten managed to get ashore by themselves, but a 32-year-old woman lost consciousness and fell in coma.
Regretfully, suchlike mishaps were not solitary in Kuban this year. Sometimes the results were tragic. On August 2, a 45-year-old female holidaymaker from Moscow perished in the open sea not far from Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka near Novorossiysk. During a sea tour on board the Yauza yacht, the rope threw her on the wall of the checkhouse. The woman died on the spot.
