Krasnodar, 5 September – Yug Times. Oleg Zharko, Chair of the Southern regional committee of the European Business Association (EBA), Danone Russia Corporate Affairs Director, reflects upon the activity of international companies in southern Russian regions.
“The European Business Association is the biggest union of international investors in Russia. In the aggregate, all members of the Association, i.e. about 600 companies, represent about 82% of Europe’s investments in the Russian economy.
“Apart from the closed industrial committees and open committees on certain activities, for instance, HR, the European Business Association has two regional committees - the Southern in Krasnodar, and the North-Western in St. Petersburg. The task of the EBA’s Southern regional committee is to help resolve on the regional level the issues that the Association is facing nationwide. “Presently, the Southern regional committee of the EBA unites 42 companies that, first of all, operate in the Krasnodar region, but also in the Rostov, Stavropol regions and the Republic of Adyghea. Of course, it’s Kuban as a mighty and well-developed region with the biggest number of the EBA member companies that plays the key role in the activity of the Association.
“Over the past 15 years, the Southern regional committee of the European Business Association has passed various development stages. It has grown in numbers, in organisation, and in structure. On November 28, 2018 we will celebrate our birthday - it will be the first Day of the European Business Association in Krasnodar.
“In 2013, the EBA member companies together with the region’s two leading Universities - the Kuban State Agrarian University and the Kuban State Technological University - launched the Business School. This interesting educational project became the result of the synergetic effort of many international companies. Its goal is to help gifted students in their professional development.”
The program of the Day of the European Business Association to be held in Krasnodar on November 28, includes an enlarged session of the Consultative Council on International Investments chaired by Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev. The EBA delegation will be headed by Chair Andrei Mitskevich who will for the first time visit the Kuban capital.
