Krasnodar, 4 September – Yug Times. Hans Peter Stihl, the 86-year-old head of the globally renowned German company, is known to continue to take an active part in the life of his enterprise, founded over 90 years ago by his father. Presently, the company actively develops in Krasnodar. Dur-ing his visit to our city, Mr. Stihl gave an exclusive interview to our weekly, in which he explained the reasons for choosing Krasnodar as the ground for the company’s first Russian affiliate, the importance of maintenance service, and announced the sale of the 10-millionth gasoline-powered tool within a year.
Q.: Are you happy with the results of your company’s activity in 2017 - 2018?
A.: The 2017 financial year proved very positive for our company. We reached the record mark of 3.8 billion euro and globally sold more than 10 million power tools. As for this year, it is too early to state the results, but I can tell you that the Russian mar-ket develops very positively.
Q.: What allows you to achieve such high quality, that since 1971 until the present day STIHL chain saws remain number one selling brand in the world?
A.: Our Company has been in the market for over 90 years. Our success is a combina-tion of up-to-date technologies and many years of experience. Our Innovation Centre employs more than 600 engineers that constantly develop and introduce various novelties. I would also like to mention such factor as the percent of our own manufacture in the finished product, which exceeds 50%. We have for a long time been the only chainsaw producer worldwide that develops and produces not only the engines but also guide bars and chains, which are the most important components of a chainsaw. Thereby we guarantee that the engines, guide bars and chains perfectly fit each other and en-sure best productivity. So, when our consumers buy our tools, they can be confident that what they buy is a really high-quality product.
