Krasnodar, 31 August – Yug Times. The tram carriages will be gradually replaced in Krasnodar, starting from the next year. The first carriages to be replaced will be the ones plying along the longest and busiest routes. The replacement costs will be financially backed by the regional budget that will allocate 3 billion roubles for the renewal of the trams. The city plans to buy 87 new trams until 2022.
By now, the useful life of 60% of the trams running in Krasnodar has expired. The renewal of the tram depot will increase the comfort and ensure the safety of passenger transportations. One of the main demands to the suppliers is to have the carriages equipped with a powerful air conditioning system, so much required by the hot climate of the city.
“What we need are reliable tram carriages that ensure comfortable temperature in the cabin during hot summer months,” Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov said.
