Krasnodar, 9 August – Yug Times. The year 2018 is special for Novorossiysk - it is going to celebrate three symbolic anniversaries this year. The city is looking forward to grand events, which is no wonder: the city will be celebrating its 180th birthday, the 75th anniversary of liberation from Nazi invaders, and the 45th anniversary of its being awarded the status of a Hero City.
Novorossiysk is meeting these jubilee dates as a strong and economically successful city, that looks optimistically into the future. Novorossiysk is a major commercial seaport and an economic centre of southern Russia. The city supports large, small and midsize business sectors. The financial turnover of small businesses is gradually expanding. Not coincidentally, Novorossiysk tops the list of all 44 municipalities of the Krasnodar region in terms of fulfilment of the plan of income of tax and non-tax revenues.
Lots of events have been scheduled for September 12-14, when the city will be celebrating its successes and achievements. The festivity will start with a traditional procession of school first-formers and university first-year students, festival of ethnic cultures, and the Open Fire Party 180 at Sudzhuk Spit. The climax of the celebration will be the International Festival “Sea Knot - Novorossiysk” to be held at the Marine Passenger Terminal, where the spectators will watch the performances of the contestants from different countries and cities, a large theatrical performance, a concert of Russian variety stars, and colourful fireworks.
