Krasnodar, 27 July – Yug Times. The Temriuk district has reportedly obtained money to reconstruct the water pipe that provides potable water to 28 settlements.
Municipality head Fedor Babenkov announced that the total length of the water pipe in question is 17.4 km, of which the final 10 km are to be repaired. For that purpose, 192 million roubles were allocated by the regional and local budgets. “Currently we are running a tender to choose the contractors,” Mr. Babenkov said. “We will begin in August and plan to complete in the first half of 2019.”
Simultaneously, the municipality is working on the issue of uninterrupted water supply in the settlement of Zaporozhskoe. The 20 km long water pipe was built 40 years ago and has never been repaired since then. As a result, the physical wear has reached 70%. In summer, because of the hot weather and the inflow of holidaymakers, the local water supply system works in emergency mode. To increase the water head, the pressure in the pipes is being increased which in its turn leads to numerous inrushes.
