Krasnodar, 3 July – Yug Times. The 98th theatrical season of Krasnodar Gorki Academic Drama Theatre ended with the first night, Halfway Up the Tree, played with the full house last week.
The spectators were faced with unexpected turns of the plot, music and mighty energy of the characters. The play is about a well-off traditional British family: happy parents and two splendid kids - a very promising son and a beautiful daughter. That was what the head of the family, General Sir Fitzbuttress, thought when he was coming back home after four years in service. But whom he met at home were his flippant wife that was unfaithful to him with their neighbour; his son Robert that gave up college and became a hippie; and his younger daughter Judy late in pregnancy but not knowing who the father of her future baby was.
What is to be done in this situation? How will General Fitzbuttress act? Will he begin to reteach his family or will he retreat and go the bad himself? The answers to these questions will be given to the spectators of the new production of the drama theatre.
