Krasnodar, 29 June – Yug Times. The matches of the World Cup held in Sochi have reportedly mobilized the efforts of the city’s customer service facilities.
According to Andrei Nikonchuk, Head of the city’s Department for Consumer Market and Services, on the eve of the 2018 season, the public catering and retail chains operating in Sochi had undergone a serious training course to be able to meet foreign football fans.
Because of the heightened demand, all retail outlets specialized in the sales of snacks and beer began to work round the clock. For six days, from June 15 until 20, they sold 25 tons of beer just at the Fans’ Festival, while total sales for that period reached 3,290 tons.
Special culinary offers introduce the guests with traditional local cuisine: since the beginning of the World Cup, Kuban traditional dishes – borsht, varenyky, seafood and Caucasian shashlik – were ordered nearly 4,000 times.
