Krasnodar, 31 May – Yug Times. Kuban is reportedly introducing some restrictions on the turnover of alcohol beverages for the time of the 2018 Football World Cup.
The regional Legislative Assembly has adopted the bill on restriction of the retail sale of alcohol drinks during the World Cup. The document submitted by the regional Department for Consumer Sphere and Regulation of Alcohol Market bans sales of alcohol in glass bottles within the Fisht Stadum and fanzone in Sochi, training sites in Anapa, Krasnodar and Gelendzhik, and within the radius of 500 m around these sites.
“The restrictions are aimed at enforcement of security measures during the World Cup in accordance with the federal law, mainly to protect health and wellbeing of the individuals engaged in the football activities,” said Roman Kurinny, Head of the said Department. He was quoted as saying that the ban on alcohol in glass bottles will be acting on the days of the matches and a day before them.
“Such restrictions are a global practice; they are applied elsewhere during large-scale events,” commented Yuri Burlachko, Chairman of the Kuban Legislative Assembly. At the same time, all rights of FIFA and its commercial partners will be fully observed.
