Krasnodar, 25 May – Yug Times. Kuban people have once again become participants of the Night of Museums - this time the event was dedicated to the displays usually hidden in storage rooms and not shown to broad public. When the gloaming defeated the bright sunlight and fell on the city, there came the time for the Arts. Museums, exhibition halls and picture galleries opened their doors, followed by libraries and artcentres, to attract thousands of people wishing to dive in the world of arts - and last Saturday it was omnipresent.
The Night of Museum is a nationwide action that was held for the 12th time in a row. This time it was dedicated to the topic called “Masterpieces from Museum Depositories”. On 19 May only the visitors got a chance to see the artefacts hidden in storage rooms. The Krasnodar region added one more theme to the Night of Museums - namely, the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the region from the Nazi invaders. The memory of those who fought for the freedom of the Kuban land was honoured at Kovalenko and Felitsyn Museums, Ponomarenko Philharmonic Society, and other institutions.
Every year, the interest to this event grows - this time, over 280,000 people participated in the Night of Museums in the Kuban region, which was by 10,000 more than in 2017.
