Krasnodar, 28 April – Yug Times. The Southern regional council on corporate volunteership has reportedly run an environmental event in the Natural Ornithological Park at the Imereti Lowlands in Sochi. The activity was dedicated to the International Birds’ Day and initiated by Philip Morris Sales and Marketing and Nestlé Russia jointly with a number of other organizations that founded the Southern regional council on corporate volunteership last year. The announced aim of the Council is performance of various projects in the communities where employees of the member companies work and live.
This time, over 30 volunteers took part in the activity. They assembled and installed several dozen starling houses in the park. These birdhouses will become shelters for the current feathery population of the park, many of which are the Red Book species, as well as for the birds coming back from their ‘winter quarters’. The project was also supported by the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and the State Institution ‘Natural Ornithological Park at the Imereti Lowlands’.
