Krasnodar, 25 April – Yug Times. Last week, Krasnodar’s Intourist Hotel hosted a presentation of the first national multifunctional Welcome Center, opened to support international investors. Although Welcome Centre is oriented at any kind of foreign business, the last week’s presentation featured the arrival of a delegation from Italy headed by Pasquale Terracciano, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Russian Federation, Pierpaolo Lodigiani, Honorary Consul General in eth Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts, and Pierpaolo Celeste, Director of the Italian Trade Agency. The business meeting at the Intourist Hotel was preceded by a long and laborious preparatory work, stated Yuri Volkov, Head of the regional Department for Investment and Development of Small and Midsize Businesses. He welcomed the guests and presented a video spot about the economic development in the Kuban region and its most promising industries. The video had an Italian motto Benvenuto!, that is ‘Welcome!’
The guests of the event confirmed that they did hear the slogan and were ready to make use of it. “I would like to say special thanks to the regional authorities and all organizers of the mission,” said Mr. Lodigiani. “For us, this meeting is very important, because the Krasnodar region is one of our main Russian partners. For many years, the annual goods turnover between Kuban and Italy exceeds a billion dollars.” At the same time, Mr. Lodigiani concluded that the possibilities of business relations are far from their ‘ceiling’ - the potential is much higher.
Mr. Celeste, who is responsible for the promotion of Italy’s economic potential in Russia, confirmed his idea: “[The region may provide] much more opportunities than Italian entrepreneurs may imagine,” noted he. цPavel Mayorov, General Director of the Development Corporation for Krasnodar Region in charge of the Welcome Center project, was quoted as saying that the Italian business as well as entrepreneurs from other countries may make themselves at home in the Kuban region.
