Krasnodar, 4 April – Yug Times. Last week, Head of the Central Directorate of Internal Affairs in the Krasnodar region Vladimir Vinevsky held a session of the police public council in the temporary custody centre of juvenile offenders in Belorechensk, a special establishment for the teenagers that committed delinquency for the first time in their life.
The main issue of the agenda of the session was prevention and state of juvenile delinquency in the region.The visitors were introduced to the custody conditions. The centre can hold up to 50 minor offenders at a time. It is the only establishment of the kind in the Kuban region. The detainees are teenagers who committed some socially dangerous act, including minors from outside the region that were caught committing an administrative infraction in the territory of Kuban. As a result, the detainees may have come from nearly all Russian regions and even abroad. They may stay up to 30 days in the centre.
On the day of the session, there were 11 boys in the centre. The centre works seriously with ‘difficult teenagers’. Before leaving the centre, all detainees must undergo a conversation with the psychologist and take a special test that helps draw their social portrait and develop individual recommendations for the educational work.
