Krasnodar, 8 March – Yug Times. Speaking at a session of the City Duma in Novorossiysk, Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev proposed to introduce height restrictions for newly-constructed residential blocks, with a decreasing permitted number of storeys in the houses erected near the sea.
According to Mr. Kokndratiev, the height restrictions will enable to preserve the view of the seafront that is worth a big port city. He also reminded that Novorossiysk remains a locomotive of the region’s economy. At the Russian Investment Forum recently held in Sochi, the city concluded eight investment agreements for nearly 15 billion roubles, half of which would be spent in the construction sector.
Mr. Kondratiev called upon the city authorities to give up infill housing practices. He also emphasized the primary importance of solution of the problem of water supply in Novorossiysk. He said that the regional Legislative Assembly plans to consider the issue of additional financial backup of Novorossiysk’s housing and communal services in the near future.
