Krasnodar, 27 February – Yug Times. Last week, First Vice Governor Andrei Alekseyenko held a conference in Novorossiysk devoted to the problems of apartment owners deceived by constructors.
The participants of the conference considered several variants of completion of the construction of eight blocks that should have fully completed last year, but because of the lack of financial resources the developer, KubanZhilStroi Ltd., had suspended the works. Then a number of flat owners and several contractors sued the constructor asking to declare it bankrupt. As a result, the company’s property was arrested, which fact made it even more difficult to find a new investor. Presently, about 2,600 persons are waiting for their flats to be built.
Upon considering about 40 cases of the flat owners, the potential investor expressed interest in completion of the construction project at cost of KubanZhilStroi’s arrested property and other land plots from the company’s fixed assets. Mr. Alekseyenko recommended the city authorities to negotiate with the investors, conclude the required agreements, and then solicit for the removal of the arrest of the land parcels.
