Krasnodar, 20 February – Yug Times. At the 2018 Russian Investment Forum that finished last Friday in Sochi, the Krasnodar region showcased a large and interesting business program. The regional stand hosted several important business activities, where power executives, business circles and experts were discussing urgent problems and challenges of the Kuban and South Russian economies.
The first item of the business agenda was the roundtable “Economic Diplomacy as Viewed by Business”, supported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Council of Young Diplomats. The roundtable “Kuban 2030. A Human Strategy” was one of the highlights of the region’s business program.
“’The 2030 Strategy’ is a kind of bridge to connect the present and the future,” stated Vice Governor Igor Galas. “And it is Man that is the core of this strategy. Our task is to invite young, active and creative people to the economy and — which is even more important — to retain them there. To do this, it is important to create comfortable conditions for the life and work, and including for doing business. On Thursday, Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev and Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev visited the regional stand. Mr. Medvedev paid peculiar attention to the investment proposals put forward by Krasnodar and Sochi, and gave a high assessment to the topicality and reality of the projects.
On Friday, Mr. Medvedev discussed the prospects of inter-budgetary relations with the heads of Russian regions that came to visit the Investment Forum. Commenting on the meeting, Mr. Kondratiev said that inter-budgetary relations constitute one of the most important issues in regional politics.
