Krasnodar, 20 February – Yug Times. A trilateral protocol of intentions regarding the reconstruction of the Krasnodar airport was signed in Sochi last week by Vice Governor Anatoli Voronovsky, Basel Aero General Director Leonid Sergeyev, and Krasnodar Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov. For the Kuban capital, it was one of the most important agreements concluded during the Russian Investment Forum.
Over the future five years, Basel Aero plans to invest 11 billion roubles in the main air harbor of the region. The money will be spent to construct a new modern airport building with shops, recreation and amusement zones, to upgrade the landside area, cargo and VIP terminals, and car parks. New exits to the airport area will also be built.
“When the project is fulfilled, we will get a state-of-the-art hi-tech complex able to serve millions of passengers, tons of freight, which in its turn will have a positive effect on the region’s economy,” stressed Mr. Voronovsky.
