Krasnodar, 14 February – Yug Times. The Krasnodar region has raised over a trillion roubles as investments over the past three years of participation in the Sochi Investment Forums.
Until 2016, the efficiency of the agreements concluded at such forums stayed at the level of 30%; now the figure has nearly tripled. Such progress has been ensured by active support of the investors coming to the regional market and revolutionary change of the very approach to the formation of Kuban’s displays at the forums.
On the eve of the 2018 Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, the Yug Times asked Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev to comment on these issues.
“This year, we are presenting the Regional Development Strategy for the period until 2030. It was developed by leading national and local experts, with due consideration for the opinion of Kuban residents.
“The responsibility is high — after all, it’s owing to the Strategy that the region’s economy will be formed over the next twelve years. And the forum in Sochi will be its starting point.
“The Strategy divides our region into seven economic zones, each having peculiarities of their own. For instance, every zone has its priority industry and competitive advantages. So it would be strange if an area rich in fish would not have [fish-processing] plants. Or, say, it will pay to continue building plants and factories in Armavir, one of our industrial centres. That is, we want to take an understandable way, based on the municipalities’ real opportunities.
“Of course, such approach will be much easier for our investors. Our partners may at once see the defined possibilities and directions that would bring forth worthy profits.
