Krasnodar, 13 February – Yug Times. The share of small and midsize businesses in the regional gross product exceeds 33% at the national background of 19.9% only, and the regional authorities will try to drive it to 50%, announced Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev during a meeting with Business Ombudsman Boris Titov.
Sales and services make up more than 60% of the structure of small and midsize businesses; this is our peculiarity as a resort region,” stated Mr. Kondratiev. “This is why one of our strategic challenges for 2018 will be to redirect the governmental support to the development of the real sector of the [region’s] economy.”
Alongside with the Microfinancing Fund and Guarantee Fund, the new Regional Fund of Industrial Development will reportedly be opened this year to support and grant credits to small enterprises.
“The Krasnodar Microfinancing Fund is one of the most successful institutions nationwide,” stressed Mr. Titov. “The [Krasnodar] region holds leading positions in many fields, including development of small and midsize entrepreneurship. Kuban ‘feels’ better in comparison to other regions. Besides, the number of high-performance up-to-date jobs in the region has increased by 41% over the past five years.”
