Krasnodar, 23 January – Yug Times. The successful development of agritourism in the Krasnodar region has been highly appreciated at the federal level.
The regional agritourism development program reached the final of the All-Russia competition of best practices and initiatives for the socio-economic development of Russian regions. The work of the regional Ministry for Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage claims to win in the nomination ‘Development of the region’s tourist potential.”
Presently, Kuban has more than 100 agritourism destinations - eco-farms, apiaries, cheese dairies, ethnic parks and centres, wine and tea tours, horse ridings, and hunting and fishing tours.
Director of the Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Safonov believes that Kuban has become a leading Russian region in the formation of high-quality round-the-year tourist products: “Diversity of recreation activities offered [in Kuban], including a broad spectrum of agricultural tours, is an important factor promoting the tourists’ interest in the region.”
