Krasnodar, 29 December – Yug Times. In January 2018, operations on the replacement of the joints of Turgenevsky Bridge in Krasnodar will begin.
During a field meeting held on the bridge, City Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov announced that the repair works will begin on 2 January. Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Construction Boris Sukhov, four out of the eight movement joints will be replaced. If the city would not start dealing with this problem now, soon the supporting frame of the bridge may be destroyed by the traffic.
“The examination showed that the expansion joints need to be replaced urgently,” said Mr. Pervyshov. “The most appropriate date to begin the repair works is immediately after New Year, on 2 January, when the traffic will be much lower than usual. We will have to use the [New Year] vacations as much as possible to have the repair works completed within a tight schedule.”
