Krasnodar, 28 December – Yug Times. Speaking at a session of the Presidential Council on strategic development and priority projects held last week, Vladimir Putin spoke of the necessity to increase the affordability of housing in Russia.
Russian President noted that currently 35% families have a possibility to improve their housing condition, while in the early 2000s their number did not exceed 5%. Nonetheless, by 2025 mortgage credits must be affordable for at least 50% families. To have this aim achieved, from 110 to 120 million sq m of housing facilities must be put into operation every year.
The current mortgage interest stays below 10%, but it must continue to go down.
