Opening the discussion, Chairman of the Kuban Agro-Industrial Union Igor Lobach pointed out search for the balance of interests between national producers, international companies, farmers and long-term state interests as the main task of the dialogue. “Speaking of import substitution, we must look at it pragmatically — because it first of all has to do with observance of our state economic interests,” stated Mr. Lobach.
Aleksandr Perenko, Head of Department of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnologies of the Kuban State Agrarian University, stated that biotechnologies find an ever wider application in cattle farming: “No doubt that conditions for the wide use of biological plant protection and organic fertilizers have matured. We render advisory services for two factories engaged in processing of cattle manure and straw leftovers. The resulting product is an extract that shows excellent practical results in farming.”
