Krasnodar, 11 October – Yug Times. The first All-Russia Cossack Forum that took place in Krasnodar on October 5–6, summoned activists of the registered Cossack Hosts and communities as well as top government representatives from different Russian regions. The main declared tasks of the forum were to exchange the experiences, develop the development strategies, and discuss legal aspects of the Cossack movement. Speaking at the forum, President’s Plenipotentiary in the Central Federal District Aleksandr Beglov stressed that Russia has the legislation required as the basis for development of the Cossack movement.
Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said: “We want our children and following generations to live on this land and speak the language we understand. In Kuban, the power and the Cossacks do all they can to achieve these aims.”
Opening the forum, Kuban Cossack Host Ataman Nikolai Doluda pointed out that the main task of the Cossack movement is to give the possibility for the country’s leaders “to fully use its potential in all spheres – from maintenance of law and order to spiritual and patriotic education of the youth.” The delegates took decisions to submit the draft bill “On Development of Russian Cossack Movement” for the consideration of the State Duma, and establish the All-Russia Registered Cossack Host. The forum ended with a reception offered by Governor of the Krasnodar region. Its delegates decided to hold such forums on a regular basis in various Russian regions.
