Krasnodar, 11 October – Yug Times. First Vice Governor Andrei Alekseyenko has reportedly held a meeting with leading developer companies to discuss burning issues of the construction industry. The main topics touched upon were the problems of the defrauded home owners and urban infrastructure development in the region.
“The construction industry is currently facing hard times,” stated Mr. Alekseyenko. “It is due to the falling purchasing capacity and toughening of the crediting policy. Nonetheless, the construction industry remains a flagship of the regional economy. So we must resolve a number of problems and develop a common position on most critical points to adhere to, to be able to advance forward with confidence.”
One of such critical issues is uncompleted and delayed construction of blocks of flats. The situation is to be tackled at the federal level with the help of the law “On participatory construction of apartment buildings.” One of the changes is that a governmental compensation fund will be established, where the constructors of the blocks built on shared ownership terms will have to assign 1.2% of the total sum of each contract. This money will be spent to complete the construction of the ‘problem’ blocks.
