Krasnodar, 4 October – Yug Times. The legislative and executive branches of the regional power have undergone serious shake-ups in personnel. Governor Veniamin Kondratiev changed four his deputies and restored the post of first deputy governor. This position was proposed to Andrei Alekseyenko who had for the past two years been Mr. Kondratiev’s right hand on the issues of fuel and energy complex and housing and communal services. Vice Governor in charge of domestic policy will be Aleksei Kopaigorodsky, ex head of a regional Department.
Vladimir Beketov who had for 22 years been serving as Chairman of the regional Legislative Assembly was nominated for membership in the Federation Council as a Senator from the
Krasnodar region. In the regional parliament, he will be replaced by Yuri Burlachko, ex vice governor of the region. Nikolai Gritsenko, secretary of the regional branch of the United Russia party was appointed Burlachko’s first deputy Chairman. Two other vice governors — Sergei Altukhov and Sergei Usenko — were also appointed vice Chairmen of the Legislative Assembly.
Mr. Kondratiev was quoted as saying inthis connection that the main goal of the shake-ups was to improve the efficiency of the regional power’s work.
